A recent article in the Nyasa Times (http://www.nyasatimes.com/2013/08/19/air-cargo-malawi-uk-still-in-full-swing/) indicates that business is very strong at AirMalawi Cargo Service. Business is especially strong between Malawi and the UK and Europe.
The article quotes Steve Msamala who is the country manager for Air Cargo (UK) Malawi services country manager for UK and Europe.
Many people were concerned after the Air Malawi passenger service was liquidated and discontinued that it would also affect the ability to ship cargo in and out of Malawi. It appears now that this has not been the case. Mr. Msamala wants to assure everyone that it is “business as usual” at Air Malawi Cargo. He also goes on to say that prices are very competitive and have not gone sky high as some had feared.
This is good news to people living in the region as well as businesses who need cargo services. There had been much speculation and uncertainty as to the future of the cargo service, and those fears now appear to have been unfounded.
Mr. Msamala asks that all Malawians should support their own company so the company can continue to grow and offer the best possible prices. In the article he states “Air Cargo does not belong to any individual, it belongs to all Malawians.” But it is essential for the future of the air cargo business that they can stay strong only through their support. Spreading rumors and false stories must stop.
